Christian Folk  |  Outreach and Programming Intern

Christian Folk is an outreach and programming intern for Arts for the Aging. He is interested in music education outside of the traditional classroom settings and advocating for the works of marginalized composers. Christian taught for three years in public and private schools in the Charlotte, NC, and Columbia, SC areas, and is currently working on his Ph.D. in music education at The University of Maryland. A strong advocate for music by diverse composers, Christian is the creator of two databases for wind band and orchestra that catalog thousands of works by women composers and composers of color, which have been featured in clinics at The Midwest Clinic and the National Association for Music Education Conference.
