Mercedes Blankenship is the grants coordinator for Arts for the Aging. She has a background in theatre, education, and arts administration. Previously, she was an education apprentice at Round House Theatre for the 2021-2022 season and worked in Montgomery County Public Schools as a paraeducator and a substitute teacher. She is a long-time member of the board of directors for Wildwood Summer Theatre, an entirely youth-run, nonprofit community theatre organization based in Montgomery County. Mercedes holds a bachelor of arts in musical theatre from American University. Outside of work, Mercedes enjoys podcasts, cross-stitching, listening to audiobooks, spending time with other people’s dogs, and maintaining her ongoing streak on the New York Times crossword puzzle app.
