The 22nd Annual Tennis Tournament benefiting AFTA was an ace! Players and spectators alike came out on a sunny Saturday afternoon in June for round-robin play on private courts around the D.C. metro area. Afterwards, semi, final and exhibition matches along with a party and silent auction took place at Fairfax Racquet Club. A few days later, ensuing rain cleared out just in time for His Excellency Jonas Hafström, The Ambassador of Sweden, to host a reception in thanks to our event supporters. Congratulations tournament winners in Flight A, Marissa Gayle and Babar Ahmed, and in Flight B, Dawn Buth and Mitchell Schear. The trophies, original sculptures by AFTA Founder and Chair Emerita Lolo Sarnoff, are named Wanderpreis. Each year the winners share the take-home sculptures — that is, until next year.
